The article deals with three cases of intoxication with cresol; it was an intravenous intoxication; the victims were a woman and two of her sons. Through the autopsy it was possible to find pupilar miosis, cyanosis, cerebral and pul- monary edema, dilatation of the lymphatic juxta alveolar vessels of the lung, presence of positive Oil Red material in the pulmonary vessels, acute tubular necrosis of the kidney and perilobule hepatic congestion. The authors wish to emphasize how unusual it is to encounter such a case and how easy in is to diagnose it through the autopsy findings and the toxicological analysis of the viscera.
