The methodology used at the Forensic Physics Laboratory of the National lnstitute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses) in the reconstruction of vehicle - pedestrian traffic accidents is presented. Particular consideration is given to the determination of vehicle velocity at impact from throw distance. The parameters, physical foundations and formulae are discussed. A general procedure related to the methodology is presented at the end.
